Why is the calculated duty result only an "estimate"?
This tool uses average tax rates based on broad product categories (e.g., Electronics, Textiles). In actual customs clearance, duties are determined by specific HS Codes.

What are "Section 301 China Tariffs" and should I check it?
If you are shipping goods from China to the USA, you typically need to check this box. It is an additional tariff (usually 25%) imposed by the US on Chinese imports.
Most industrial and consumer goods are affected, with very few exemptions. Checking this option helps you assess the true cost of exporting to the US and prevents your profits from being consumed by unexpected tariffs.
What should I enter for "Total Product Value (FOB USD)"?
You should enter the total value paid to your supplier for the products (excluding international shipping and insurance).
FOB (Free On Board) covers the cost of goods and all expenses up to the point the goods cross the ship's rail at the port of origin. Please ensure the amount is in USD for the calculator to apply standard duty ratios correctly.
Does the "Total Landed Cost" include door-to-door shipping?
No, it does not.
This calculator primarily estimates "Product Value + Duty + Taxes". The true Total Landed Cost also includes international freight (sea/air), port charges, customs brokerage fees, and inland transportation.
